Hanlan SCR DeNOx System Successfully Commissioned at an Overseas Power Station
SCR DeNOx System for a 227 MWp Solar PV + 100 MW/400 MWh Energy Storage Microgrid
Hebei Hanlan Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. has successfully completed the installation and commissioning of an SCR DeNOx system for an overseas hybrid power project featuring 227 MWp of solar PV and 100 MW/400 MWh of energy storage.
The system has now entered commercial operation, providing reliable exhaust NOx reduction for Mitsubishi S16R2-PTAW2-E-C diesel generator sets. Since commissioning, the system has been operating stably, with key operating parameters meeting the project's design and site requirements.
Reliable SCR Technology for Diesel Generator Applications
The system adopts the proven Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) process, using 32.5% urea solution as the reducing agent.
The solution was designed with a focus on reliability, operating efficiency and ease of maintenance. Standardized mechanical components provide good interchangeability, while the equipment layout allows convenient access for routine inspection, monitoring and maintenance.
The system is designed for continuous operation and can respond quickly to changing generator operating conditions, including:
• Generator start-up and shutdown
• Load changes and load fluctuations
• Continuous long-term operation
• Automatic operating condition adjustment
scr system start-up, shutdown, commissioning and routine operation do not interfere with normal generator operation. The maintenance schedule can also be aligned with the generator's regular service intervals, helping avoid additional downtime.

Optimized for Existing Power Plant Conditions
The scr system was engineered around the actual site conditions of the power station.
The equipment layout and dimensions were optimized according to the available installation space, with dedicated access for installation, inspection, maintenance, lifting and transportation.
The system uses dedicated medium-temperature SCR catalysts, designed to operate reliably within an exhaust gas temperature range of 300–400°C.
The equipment is also designed for outdoor installation. Electrical components and cabling are protected against rain and direct sunlight, providing enhanced environmental durability for long-term outdoor operation.
Stable NOx Reduction and Low Exhaust Backpressure
According to on-site operating data, the scr system provides stable NOx reduction performance.
NOx concentration:
3,500 mg/Nm³ → ≤2,300 mg/Nm³
The system effectively reduces NOx emissions while maintaining low exhaust resistance.
The total exhaust backpressure of the scr system, excluding the silencer, is designed and controlled at:
≤3 kPa
This helps ensure that the emission-control system does not impose excessive exhaust resistance on the generator sets.
Automated Control and Remote Operation
The SCR control cabinet can communicate and interlock with the generator's central control system, supporting automatic start/stop and remote operation.
During normal operation, the system can automatically adjust its operating status according to real-time NOx conditions, reducing the need for manual intervention.

Since entering service, the Hanlan scr system has demonstrated stable performance across different generator operating conditions, providing the project with a reliable solution for continuous NOx emission control.
