Exhaust gas treatment of generator set

Recently, the Wanchun generator set tail gas treatment system independently developed and designed by Hebei Hanlan was installed and operated in a data center in East China. The system was running smoothly and all tests successfully reached the expected goals.

According to the customer’s request by the Hebei Hanlan technicians, the exhaust emission of the generator set used must meet the requirements of the current national and local environmental protection standards under the rated full load condition (that is, the flue gas must meet the NOx (nitrogen oxide) )≤150mg/m3, PM≤30 mg/m3, black smoke reaches Ringelmann Class 1). The corresponding treatment plan was given and the exhaust gas treatment system of Wanchun diesel generator set was designed.

Because the entire generator set exhaust gas treatment system is optimized and reasonably laid out, and some of the systems are integrated into one, it saves users a lot of investment, operating costs and space, and at the same time guarantees the safe and reliable operation of the generator set. It is highly recognized by customers.

Among them, the black smoke purifier of the generator set adopts the back-blowing regeneration cleaning process, which has the characteristics of convenient and quick carbon deposit cleaning and filter removal, low cost, long service life, safety and reliability. That is to say, under normal conditions and within the service life period, only periodic cleaning and maintenance of the equipment is sufficient, no need to replace filter elements and consumables, and no other investment. At the same time, it can meet the need to increase the back pressure after the black smoke purifier is installed. It is greater than 3kpa, the particulate matter is not greater than 30 mg/m3, and cannot affect the power output of the diesel generator set, and cannot reduce the requirements of the generating load capacity of the generator set.

SCR denitrification process is used for flue gas denitrification of generator sets, that is, the reducing agent decomposes into ammonia (NH3) and water (H2O) when encountering high temperature flue gas in the exhaust pipe mixing zone, and then fully mixes with flue gas to act on the catalyst. It is a process in which harmless nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O) are generated, and then discharged through the exhaust pipe. In the SCR denitration process, the denitration catalyst is an essential role and directly affects the denitration efficiency. Therefore, in this project, Hebei Hanlan selected a highly efficient denitration catalyst independently developed and designed, which not only has the characteristics of high temperature flue gas adaptability, high air velocity, high activity, etc., but also has high purification efficiency per unit volume, small footprint, and SO2 conversion. Low rate, flexible structure, thermal shock resistance, can effectively prevent soot particles from sticking, clogging and poisoning in the catalyst.
